Shape of Shelter

Shape of Shelter is part of a recent body of work exploring vulnerability, resilience and the spaces we create to hold ourselves through uncertain moments.
The painting reflects the instinct to seek or build shelter — not always in a physical sense, but emotionally. At times of change or pressure, we often find ourselves creating quiet structures of protection around what feels fragile.
Through layered greys, soft movement and a central vertical form, the painting suggests both exposure and protection existing at the same time. Shelter isn’t always solid or permanent; sometimes it is simply the shape we form around ourselves while we find our footing again.
